    One popular method of cleansing a tarot deck is by using sage or Palo Santo. To do this, simply:

    1. Light your sage or Palo Santo stick and let it smolder for a few moments.
    2. Hold your tarot deck in your non-dominant hand and use your dominant hand to fan the smoke around the cards.
    3. As you cleanse, visualize any unwanted energy being carried away by the smoke.
    4. Once you feel the energy has been cleansed, carefully extinguish the sage or Palo Santo stick.

    By using sage or Palo Santo, you can effectively clear any unwanted energies from your deck, leaving it ready for your tarot readings.


    I like to knock 3 times on my deck of cards before using it. I am so used to it that I often do it even without thinking, so much so that sometimes, I don’t remeber if I did it…. and I need to do it again just to be sure hahah.

    When we knock on the cards, we basically reset their energy.
